Job Description
Summary: Responsible for the timely and accurate recording of assigned accounts payable invoices. Works with limited supervision to perform the following duties:
Report to accounts payable manager and assist as needed.
Supervise accounts payable accountants and clerical staff.
Review coding of a/p invoices received from field offices for accurate account, well number, AFE, etc. Confirm that proper approvals are present. Work closely with field office to resolve any issues.
Code invoices for capital expenditures, lease operating expenses and general and administrative costs and secure proper approvals as necessary. Expertise for coding required both for oil and gas operations and capital spending associated with drilling operations.
Code and reconcile non-operated joint interest billings as assigned.
Answer vendor inquiries, resolving issues as needed.
Work with A/P Manager to prioritize vendor payments and process accounts payable checks.
Print and distribute accounts payable reports.
Review and reconcile vendor statements in order to assure proper payment of all invoices, working with vendors to resolve any open items.
Prepare analysis of accounts as assigned.
Assist with special projects, as assigned.
Assist clerical staff as needed, assuming additional responsibilities during extended absence
Job Requirements
Qualifications: Associate's degree (A. A. ) or equivalent from two-year college and five or more years of related industry experience. Expertise in coding of accounts payable invoices for capital spending associated with drilling programs in the oil and gas industry along with a strong working knowledge of coding invoices for all aspects of oil and gas operations is a requirement. Supervisory experience required.
