We are looking for an in vivo pharmacologist with experience in hemoglobinopathies, red blood cell disorders, and non-malignant blood disorders, who is motivated, creative and a respected team player. An ideal applicant should have a solid understanding of preclinical candidate molecule development to join our In Vivo Pharmacology teams in the Hematology Research department. The incumbent will:
. For selected research projects, be the driving force behind the definition of the preclinical pharmacological evaluation strategy, including selection of the relevant in vivo models;
. Be responsible for development of pharmacological models including planning, conducting and reporting of the experiments;
. Co-lead cross functional preclinical research projects; contribute to the understanding of all biological aspects of the drug candidates; and plan and organize efforts in implementing the research activities including internal and external presentation of the research findings;
. Establish working relationships with experts in the field to gain insights into novel technologies and discoveries, manage internal and external collaborations and contracts in support of novel research and product development;
. Contributes to scientific literature and conferences and authors patent applications.
The selected candidate is required to possess the following:
. B. S. with a minimum of 10years relevant experience OR;
oM. S. with a minimum of 8 years relevant experience OR;
oPhD. with a minimum of 0 years relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience;
. Three or more years of experience with the pharmacological aspects of pre-clinical research and development;
. Hands-on experience with animal experimentation, specifically in the design and execution of in vivo efficacy and safety evaluation;
. Excellent verbal and written communication skills including writing of scientific and technical reports and presentations and the ability to interpret and effectively communicate complex scientific findings and recommendations in one-on-one discussions, and departmental functional and international meetings;
. Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment with tight deadlines;
. Ability and willingness to travel up to 5%.
Preferred Qualifications:
. Experience in management of drug development projects;
. Comprehensive knowledge of the industry and the fields of hemoglobinopathy, red blood cell disorder, hemostasis, thrombosis, anemia, and/or immune-mediated hematological disease
