Job Description
BAE Southeast Shipyards is accepting applications for a SafetyTechnician position.
Respectfully communicate with all employees, managers, and customers.
- Inspects work areas and equipment to ensure compliance with company, state, and federal safety policies and regulations.
- Responsibilities also include documenting safety inspections, citing dangerous areas/procedures and recommending corrective procedures, and maintaining safety equipment supply and availability.
- Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within Ship building and repair business. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Works under immediate supervision.
- Effectively work as a cohesive team with safety personnel and competent people.
- Share information of concerns or issues in a proactive non-threatening way.
- If you find a problem come up with solutions or converse with peers to present and effective idea or solution.
- Present thoughts to Safety Supervisor or Safety Manager for prioritization if necessary.
- Time Management
- Safety Walks
- Meetings (Production, Planning, 101, etc. )
- Immediate incidents or concerns
- Planning monthly drawings
- Quarterly meetings
- JST Organization
- MSDS reporting and compiling
- Microsoft Office skills
