Description:Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
? The main purpose of this position is to design and develop new innovative electrical high power connection systems for the subsea market
? Primary responsibilities include the execution of custom high power, medium voltage subsea interconnect solutions. These projects may range from large-scale systems to component level solutions and may consist of wet-mate, dry-mate or hybrid combinations of both
? Responsibilities may also include designing medium high voltage penetrator solutions for power applications in subsea pumps, water injection and separation systems
? Interface with material scientists to establish mechanisms of electrical degradation when systems are subjected to multi-stress conditions such as pressure, temperature and high voltage
? Work directly with reliability engineers and assume responsibility for designing highly reliable interconnectors, components and/or systems; with life expectancies of 30 years or greater
? This position requires working on several projects simultaneously. These projects will range from medium voltage (3, 000 volts or greater), to low voltage interconnects
? Support all R&D initiatives and develop new applications requiring appreciable ingenuity and originality
? Support business development in new and existing markets
? Provide engineering support to manufacturing and other departments, as required.
Education and Experience:
? BSEE required (MSEE preferred) with emphasis on Power
? 0 ? 3 years? experience in designing electrical medium voltage systems
? Research, hands on experience, in a university environment would be considered as industry experience
? Experience in developing highly reliable designs for aerospace or subsea systems desired
Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
? 1+ years? experience in power engineering
? 1+ years? experience in Offshore Oil & Gas industry or Undersea Defense industry strongly preferred
? Experience with electrical control systems and fiber optics strongly desirable
? Working knowledge of CAD (SolidWorks preferred)
? Excellent organizational and communication skills.
? Ability to handle multiple tasks in high growth, fast paced environment
