Job description
Systems and Technology Group has coop/intern openings for engineers & scientists to support our semiconductor products supplied to both IBM Systems and OEM external Clients. Engineers/Scientists within the Quality & Reliability Engineering organization play a critical role in various aspects of the semiconductor technology, process manufacturing engineering and product development phases. Challenging opportunities exist within this organization to drive leading edge semiconductor device/technology reliability assessments, product and package qualification & reliability engineering evaluations, material/surface characterization, and device physical failure analysis. You will develop a well-rounded perspective of the semiconductor business and an understanding of client requirements, critical process sensitivities and defects, parametric/functional device test, and chip/package interaction. These positions offer direct involvement in bringing leading edge technology to market in our custom logic, custom processors and specialty foundry product offerings.

Basic requirements include a strong background in one or more of the following technical areas: engineering, programming (for example, C, VHDL, Verilog), design, test, materials science, chemistry or physics. In addition, the ability to work in a team based environment and strong communication skills are critical.

* Master's Degree in Engineering
