Job description
Global Technology Services is searching for top quality candidates to fill entry-level sales roles in IBM Internet Security Systems rapidly expanding Managed Security Services business. These exciting positions are entry-level, customer facing, services sales positions. These roles are for highly energetic sales specialists traveling frequently within an assigned territory to represent the IBM Managed Security Services portfolio.
A successful Sales Specialist Business Development Manager understands how to deliver dynamic presentations to a range of technical audiences and C-Level executives to effectively articulate the value proposition of IBMs Managed Security Services. The ideal candidate will have an IT security background and a desire to sell complex security solutions. Must demonstrate ability to identify, validate, qualify and close sales opportunities while focusing on customer satisfaction.
Post training, candidates will work with more senior sales team members and will be part of a team responsible for the complete life cycle of a services opportunity. The candidate should be able to identify and qualify an opportunity while understanding client technical and financial requirements. Working well within cross-functional teams will be paramount while building and costing the solution. In the final stages of the sales cycle, successful candidates will be able to present and sell the solution and negotiate contract terms in order to reach mutually beneficial engagements for the client and IBM.
Qualified candidates will have completed either a Bachelor's or Masters degree in Security on or before June 2012; will have a strong business acumen; thrives on leading Sales Initiatives and closing business deals; will be able to build long term professional relationships; manage customer satisfaction; possess the technical ability to help develop business solutions; is a self starter; possess excellent people skills; be a team player; acts with a sense of urgency; understands the critical importance of the sales role to the continued success at IBM; possess strong written and verbal communication skills; and demonstrates the core values of IBM: Dedication to every clients success, Innovation that matters - for our company and the world, Trust and personal responsibility in all relationships.
The start date for these openings will be in June 2012. The training program includes 6 months in the IBM Summit Program, which includes consultative sales training and product education, as well as 3 to 6 months of training in a specific services specialty, and will require considerable travel. Upon territory assignment, the candidate must be willing to travel up to 50%. Opportunities available in both East and West regions of the US.
