Job Title: Supply Chain Buyer Requisition Number: 23134
Functional Area: Supply Chain
Work Location: Engine Components (Turbomachinery) - Hodges
Job Description Summary: Handles the procurement, inventory & MRP analysis of assigned raw materials, equipment, parts and supplies. Proactively works with production to understand and avoid stock-out situations. Supports Goodrich plants in Hodges, SC amd Houston, TX.
? Maintain standards of quality in materials, based on suitability to use and to procure materials at the lowest cost consistent with the quality and service required.
? Maintain continuity of supplies to support the manufacturing schedule and to do so with the minimum investment in materials inventory, consistent sound procurement practices.
? Avoid duplication, waste and obsolete materials.
? Must be able to prioritize multiple tasks in a high intensity environment.
? Understand and maintain data to support business metrics on an on-going basis.
? Analysis of production forecast requirements and translation of such data into purchasing requirements.
? Knowledge of inventory techniques such as (Kan-Ban, JIT, etc) including set-up, monitoring and maintenance of such systems.
? Inventory, receipts and invoice reconciliation, on a daily, weekly and /or monthly basis.
? Knowledge of ISO, NADCAP or similar quality management system as it relates to purchasing requirements.
? Manage purchase orders including daily purchase order reports and supplier follow-up.
? Actively engage in and support Continuous Improvement (CI) activities.
? Limited travel may be required.
? Handles special projects and other duties as requested and assigned.
Basic Qualifications: Bachelors Degree in a related field or equivalent related experience. Minimum 3 years purchasing and planning experience in support of a manufacturing operation. Experience with supplier selection, price/cost analysis. Must be able to prioritize multiple tasks in a high intensity environment. Knowledge of inventory techniques such as (Kan-Ban, JIT, etc) including set-up, monitoring and maintenance of such systems. Knowledge of ISO, NADCAP or similar quality management system as it relates to purchasing requirements. The following certifications are preferred but not required. Institute for Supply Management (C. P. M. ) and/or APICS Certification (CPIM and/or CIRM) ERP software experience (SAP or JDEdwards) is also preferred.
