Job Description

Develops and executes test plans, procedures and scenarios for unit, process, function, system integration and acceptance testing. Consults with the development and/or requirements team to coordinate and test applications. Develops schedules. Creates automated test scripts. Tests existing applications for compliance with upgrades. Ensures new applications and software modifications meet requirements and operate satisfactorily in the system environment. Ensures that the software interfaces with both new and existing systems. May build test environments to include configuring and installing appropriate software. Writes detailed test plans, procedures and scenarios. Documents the successes and failures of all executed test procedures. Maintains currency on tools, methodologies, technologies and programming languages.
This individual will also be part of requirements analysis, working with the customer and customer representatives to refine requirements down to the software level, deriving software requirements and test cases from user and system requirements. The individual must be experienced in writing software requirements. They may also be responsible for assisting in maintaining test documentation through the CM process. Individual selected will sit in the Tyson's corner area, but may be required to work at other Intelligence Community buildings on occasion for TEMs, board meetings, focus groups, review boards, etc.

Required Education:8+ Years with BS or 6+ Years with MS or 3+ Years with PhDRequired Experience:Required Skills:Experience in automated test methodologies/processes/ development like Selenium; writing automated test scripts Experience with IV&V testing Excellent writing skills Ability to work independently or with a small team Experience writing test plans Experience in writing software requirements Experience interacting directing with customers to refine requirements. Experience with task-management tools like Sharepoint Specialized Qualifications: Considerable knowledge of at least one automated test tool. Ability to proficiently create automated test scripts. Ability to interpret requirements and translate them into precise test cases. Considerable knowledge of the operating environment of the application being tested. Considerable knowledge of database query languages, such as SQL, to assess the state of the data before and after test transactions are performed. Ability to detect, report and explain defects effectively. Ability to explain protocols, technical procedures and processes clearly and accurately to both technical and non-technical audiences. Ability to plan, set goals and determine strategies for accomplishing results; monitors and evaluates progress toward goals. Ability to maintain currency on tools, methodologies, technologies and programming languages. Ability to write clear, concise and effective correspondence, test plans, procedures and scenarios in accordance with policies. Preferred Skills:JUNIT scripts experience JEE ANT VISIO
