Reports To: Assistant Director – Financial Aid (at the campus location) and
Director of Financial Aid
Job Location: Assigned Campus Location in Connecticut or Massachusetts
Mission:
The Financial Aid Counselor serves as an integral part of the Financial Aid department team at the respective campus level. This position is responsible for: the day-to-day interaction with both prospective and currently enrolled students who seek financial aid in pursuit of their career education; the evaluation, processing and awarding of campus financial aid applicants; and the support of a collaborative enrollment management model that reinforces PCI ’ s enrollment success at the campus level.
The Financial Aid Counselor reports directly to the Assistant Director of Financial Aid and ultimately to the Director of Financial Aid.
Essential Functions & Primary Responsibilities:
1. Actively participate as a member of the Financial Aid team;
2. On a daily basis, provide assistance to prospective and continuing students (or their parents) in completing the appropriate financial aid forms, explain their financing options, guide them through the financial aid process, and address their
needs and concerns;
3. Calculate financial aid awards, perform verification, and resolve any discrepant applicant information on a daily basis;
4. On a daily basis, utilize the School ’ s Financial Aid Management System, Campus Vue;
5. Ensure that the campus ’ financial aid process flow is effectively being followed in meeting the needs of both new and continuing financial aid applicants;
6. Provide the necessary Financial Aid Office support for reinforcing a collaborative enrollment management model at the campus level;
7. Ensure that superior customer service is provided to all financial aid applicants and recipients on an ongoing basis;
8. Support and contribute to the Campus ’ Financial Aid Office goals and objectives to insure they are met or exceeded in accordance with Porter and Chester
Institute ’ s standards;
9. Works closely with recruitment staff as a financial aid consultative professional, and
10. Other duties as assigned.
