Job Title: Training Manager Position type: Exempt
Summary
Conducts training and educational programs, for bothnew hires and current employees. Develops, or obtains, course outlines, materials and teaching aids using a variety of techniques, including discussions, role playing, team exercises and visual materials. Through strong interpersonal and communication skills, presents training classes in an energetic and imaginative way, ensuring trainees are engaged. Continually tests and evaluates the effectiveness of training methods, materials and courses. Amends and revises materials as necessary, in order to adapt to changes that occur. Maintains active communication with the Corporate Training team, Human Resources, assigned department staff and Management to ensure acceptance and uniformity in training programs, both internally and companywide.
Supervises training team members, scheduling and assigning work, establishing unit goals and objectives and providing training. Completes performance reviews; makes employment decisions; coaches, counsels and develops staff.
Ensures that own work is in compliance with applicable laws, regulations and guidelines, as detailed in policies located on Company intranet.
Typical Functions

* Continually tests and evaluates the effectiveness of training methods, materials and courses. Amends and revises materials as necessary, in order to adapt to changes that occur.
* Maintains active communication with the corporate training team, human resources, assigned department staff and management to ensure acceptance and uniformity in training programs, both internally and companywide.
* Maintains and displays a comprehensive knowledge of department and company practices and policies. Consistently ensures customer satisfaction levels are in line with corporate philosophy and goals, ensuring that goals are attained.
* Provides direction and Supervises training team members in meeting expectations, including effective curriculum presentation, development, and leadership of the training classes.
* Effectively documents interaction with training team members, maintaining their associate file accordingly.
* Writes and delivers performance evaluations, and progressive discipline documents for training team members.
* Maintains a Supervisory role in leading employees participating in training classes, effectively offers coaching and direction.
* Travels to call center locations as needed to effectively manage, support and deliver training.
* Duties may include but are not limited to; training, conducting Quality Assurance monitoring and scoring, and delivering timely feedback.
* Responsible for knowledge and expertise in utilizing technology and software used by the Company.
* Performs other duties and participates in special projects as required.

Decision Making Responsibilities:
Under the direct supervision of the manager; work is performed independently within and outside of established policies and procedure. Procedures and processes should be adapted to address unusual situations. Minimal supervision is required.
Financial Responsibilities:
This position may require processing payroll information that impact employee ’ s compensation.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position is responsible for the day to day supervision of members of the training teams as well as employees participating in training classes. Serves as a resource to their staff.
Qualifications: Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 5+ years training experience is preferred
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Proven ability to multi-task and apply knowledge of various job responsibilities effectively
- Strong leadership abilities, Displays an ability to lead through example
- Ability to make sound decisions within and outside of established policies
- Ability to motivate others and maintain high level of confidentiality
- Displays competancy as a “ subject matter expert ” regarding company policy and processes
- Displays a high level of professionalism while keeping things fun and engaging
- Works well in a dynamic and ever-changing environment
Other requirements:
- 6 months to 1 year experience in Bob ’ s Discount Furniture Customer Care, or related training experience preferred.
