Job Description and Qualifications Air Products and Chemicals, Inc. (NYSE:APD), a Fortune 500 manufacturer of industrial gases and chemicals, is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician (Mechanic) for its New Orleans, LA facility.
The basic function of this role is the responsibility for performing preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical equipment such as: centrifugal & reciprocating compressors, process pumps, gear drives, vessels, heat exchangers, all involving a variety of fluids and specific requirements at the New Orleans Facility and associated Satellites. The facilities at which work is performed (New Orleans & Satellites) are located mainly in Louisiana and Mississippi.
Applicants must have a background in rotating machinery and plant maintenance.
. Take critical measurements on equipment. .
. Utilize standard tools for predictive & preventive maintenance and troubleshooting.
Qualifications:
. High school diploma/GED
. Trade/Technical degree or apprenticeship in a related field is a plus but not required.
. Entry level candidates with SkillsUSA membership and the ability to demonstrate PDP leadership competencies are strongly encouraged to apply
. Military service in a related field a plus but not required
. Machinery and rotating equipment knowledge
. Detail oriented and willing to document details appropriately.
. Troubleshooting and fault isolation skills.
. Strong personal safety philosophy.
. Must be team oriented and have a willingness to learn and further develop technical skills.
