Title: Neurodiagnostic Technician - Temporary
Location: Alaska-Kodiak
Providence is calling a temporary Neurodiagnostic Tech for the Respiratory Therapy Services Department at Providence Kodiak IslandMedical Center in Kodiak, AK.
The Neurodiagnostic Technician performs neurodiagnostic testing in one or more areas (Polysomnography (PSG), Electroencephalogram (EEG) and/or Nerve Conduction Velocity (NCV's ) on inpatients and outpatients.

In this position, you will:
* Work autonomously and or in concert with a Technologist/Therapist to set up patients and perform neurodiagnostic testing (PSG, EEG, and/or NCV) according to national standards. Calibrate, clean and troubleshoot equipment.
* Educate departments, patients, physicians, employees, and community members about services provided.
* Abide by American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM) guidelines in addition to the Respiratory Therapy Department's policies and procedures when performing nocturnal polysomnography and or Neurodiagnostics.
Qualifications for this position include:
* High school diploma or equivalent. Graduation from school accredited by the Committee on Allied Health Education and accreditation, or on-the-job training with oversight from a registered technologist from BRBT (Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists) or ABRET (American Board of Registered Electroencephalographic Technologists) preferred.
* Certified through the BRPT as a CPSGT within three years of employment. BLS or the ability to obtain certification within 90 days of date of hire required.
* On-the- job training with oversight from an RPSGT if not a graduate from school accredited by the Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation and/or six (6) or more months of patient care experience preferred.
