Interested in signing the next Halo, Gears of Wars, Lips, Limbo, or Kinect Adventures? Then, come join the Microsoft Game Studios (MGS) Business Development Team. Our mission is to source independent game developers capable of creating the next blockbuster 1st party franchises for our Xbox 360, Kinect, Windows and LIVE platforms. Your goal will be to identify potential content partners and game concepts that fit into our portfolio strategy and negotiate development deals to closure. You will join a team of diverse, dedicated and fun business development professionals to significantly contribute to the future of Microsoft Studios portfolio.
Responsibilities:
Driving the complete evaluation process: including, filtering game concept submissions, organizing pitch meetings, coordinating due diligence trips, driving internal approval meetings with senior management
Successfully negotiating double-digit million dollar deal terms and driving contract execution.
Work with the Publishing Studio's Functional Leads to drive the evaluation process, Finance and Marketing to create the P&Ls, and Legal to negotiate the contracts.
As one of the primary representatives for Microsoft in the gaming industry, you will build relationships with development studios around the world and work diligently to maintain MGSs positive reputation so that we continue to attract top-tier developers.
Requirements:
The ideal candidate must be VERY passionate and knowledgeable about games, has strong communication, inter-personal, and negotiation skills, is a self-starter, and drives to results.
5+ years of business development experience in the game industry, as well as an MBA or equivalent work experience.
Consulting or investment banking background is a plus.
