Provide assessments regarding current, state-of-the-art, and industrial trends in the computer field. Apply these assessments to automation and surveillance system computers, etc. projects.

The position requires engineering, software, and technical support in the Test and Evaluation (T&E) of current and future National Airspace System (NAS) ATC surveillance systems and their associated subsystems and interfaces. Engineering, software, and technical support are also required for T&E of current and future ATC surveillance system Service Life Extension Programs (SLEPs) and Pre-Planned Product Improvements (P3Is). In support of the above activities, the successful candidate will also provide engineering, software, and technical support in the maintenance and upgrade of hardware and software test tools and in the creation, review, evaluation, and organization of documentation. The ATC Surveillance Team conducts all aspects of T&E in accordance with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Acquisition Management System (AMS) Test and Evaluation Process Guidelines and expects assigned contractor personnel to do the same.

The following NAS ATC surveillance programs are currently supported by the ATC Surveillance Team:

* Air Traffic Control Radar/Beacon, model 6 (ATCBI-6)
* Airport Surveillance Radar, models 8, 9, and 11 (ASR-8, ASR-9, ASR-11)
* ASR-9/Mode Select (Mode-S) SLEP
* Automatic Dependent Surveillance - Broadcast (ADS-B), ground
* Long Range Radar (LRR) SLEP
* Mode-S
* Traffic Information System (TIS)
The candidate will perform engineering functions related to the DT&E and OT&E of both Primary and Secondary FAA ATC Surveillance radar systems and ATC Beacon Integrators. Conduct Site Acceptance Test (SAT), Factory Acceptance Test (FAT), Solution Implementation (SI), In-Service Management (ISM) testing and test modifications to deployed systems. Plan, conduct and report on test findings. Prepare test plans, test procedures and test reports, develop requirements, test requirements, and assist in the development and use of test tools such as Aircraft Capacity and Environment Simulator (ACES), Integrated Radar Evaluation System (IRES) and Radar and Beacon Analysis Tool (RBAT). Specific skills in establishing software requirements for in-house developed test tools and testing to those requirements are a must.

* BS in Engineering and/or Computer Science and 20 years experience or MS in Engineering and/or Computer Science and 15 years experience.
* Experience in FAA Primary and Secondary Radar systems, such as ASR-9, ASR-11, Digital Airport Surveillance Radar (DASR) to include DT&E, OT&E, requirements development and testing.
* FAA Primary and Secondary Radar systems experience is highly desired. Some military radar systems experience may apply.
* RF and digital design expertise are a plus.
