Job Description :

* Manages, develops and directs the purchasing function and leads a team of subordinates, including Buyers, Purchasing Agents and Assistants
* Directly responsible for the non-strategic raw material purchasing ($10 million), indirect buys ($ > 70 million), and services for production which involve detailed specifications ($20 million)
* Indirect and /or supporting responsibility for site related spend owned byStrategic Sourcing ($ > $150 million)
* Shared responsiblity with counterparts at other Chemtura faculities for common items, with opportunity for regional and/or national buys as appropriate
* Drive continuous improvement with respect to process and procedures as well as develop cost savings programs to sucessfully deliver year on year productivity targets
* Develops and ensures close relationship with strategic sourcing, production planning, manufacturing, and business management
* Purchases complex items for multiple family production ranges
* Negotiates long-term contracts and analyzes and evaluates bids
* Maintains relationships with vendors and contractors to ensure exemplary service, secure sources of supply, and the safe, responsible handling
* Works under and drive site wide, cross functional adherence to defined Corporate Governance Policy, Delegation of Authority, and Procurement Department Policies and Procedures
* Ensures compliance with ISO, Responsible Care, Reach, SOX, and other guidelines and initiatives related to the supply chain
* Leads a team of Buyersand provides coaches and development as required
Job Requirements :

* Bachelor ’ s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Technical or Commercial discipline
* Requires 4-5 years of related experience

* Solid understanding of regional and national supply market as well as regulatory environment
