Position Summary
Position provides system support, and consultative work in the design, development, purchase, implementation, and maintenance of computer software systems. According to established policies and procedures, formulateslogical statements of complex business and technical problems for hospital departments and devises procedures forsolving same through the use of electronic data processing. Works with user departments in order to identifyproject parameters and output requirements. Conducts special studies and analysis regarding development of newinformation systems to meet current and projected needs. The quality of work must be exceptionally high as errorscould have a negative impact on patient care, revenue, accounts receivable, or administrative decision-making. Work is complexand analytical in nature, is performed independently and is reviewed by the Manager, through discussion andobservation of results achieved.

Interface with and manage a complex array of SUN/Solaris, LINUX and both physical and virtual MS Windows based PACS Infrastructure servers as well as backend storage technologies to meet the unique requirements of the PACS application suite (AGFA IMPAX, AGFA RIS, Fusion Dictation, Penrad, etc. )
Monitor key PACS application and PACS system metrics to ensure PACS performance levels and SLA's are maintained.
Interact with IS Enterprise Storage Team to configure, manage, monitor and tune core application databases and core PACS server backups.
Work with peer Systems Analysts and Systems Engineers to troubleshoot PACS workflow, connectivity or DICOM Image traffic performance issues.
Initiate and collaborate with other MMC IS groups, Project Managers and Vendor contacts for CI-PACS projects involving modality upgrades, retrofitting and net new equipment to ensure all PACS interests in those projects are represented and needs met.
Participate in and assist with the resolution of PACS Outages and Crisis Management situations.
Participate in a Tier 2, Duty Officer on-call rotation with peer staff.
Overall maintain the integrity of the MMC PACS system for our internal and external customers with a primary focus on patient safety at all times.

The ideal candidate has a strong background in virtual server technologies, enterprise storage technologies but also strong SQL and/or Oracle database technologies as well.
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
1. Knowledge of systems and methods utilized in structuring and configuring data for clinical and/oradministrative applications at a level normally acquired through completion of Bachelors Degree inComputer Science or other closely related fields in order to translate information into computer systemspecifications, design configuration for applications, and the like.
2. Approximately five to ten years progressively more responsible related work experience. Ability to delegatetasks and coordinate project-related activities.
3. Customer service and interpersonal skills necessary in order to communicate effectively with userdepartments in ascertaining and implementing needs for applications. Ability to express needs clearly, bothverbally and in writing.
4. Knowledge of departmental workflow and experience working in a clinical environment.
5. Ability to respond to changing demands, priorities, procedures and technology.
6. Knowledge of the capabilities and uses of computers for clinical, administrative and/or financialapplications. Requires specific in-depth knowledge of existing applications.
7. Knowledge of the techniques of systems analysis, development, design, research, and evaluationmethodologies.
8. Knowledge of principles, skills, and techniques utilized by assigned user departments to accomplishdepartmental objectives through computer applications.
9. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, supervisors, and userdepartment personnel.
10. Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail for approximately eighty percent of work time whenpreparing and reviewing work.
11. Skills in the use and operation of a PC and related software such as word processing, E-mail, spreadsheet, and project management.
12. Knowledge of the techniques of programming instructions for electronic computers and peripheralequipment and knowledge of appropriate programming languages.
