Job Description
Job Family Responsibilities:

Guides the design to cost process with development engineering to reduce the total material cost needed in very complex new or modified products in consideration of business fiscal impact, resource allocation and risk. Provides very complex project support to deliver, on time, all related matters by optimum inputs for quotes, workshops, evaluation and implementation of potential savings in the project. Provides input/development and implementation of very complex purchasing strategies to have influence at supplier level. Provides very complex competitive proposals for product improvements. Develops benefit analysis workshops with key suppliers to concentrate on the key functions of the components/projects. Performs sourcing; secures permanent supplies with competitive terms; performs very complex market analysis. Guides activities planned by the business field to harmonize business field strategies with purchasing strategies. Guides the supplier management activities planned by the global procurement organization.

Key Responsibilities:

Performs advanced areas of work for the professional field. Applies advanced skills to resolve complex problems not covered by existing procedures or practices independently. Displays a high level of critical thinking in bringing successful resolution to high-impact, complex, and/or cross-functional problems.

Education:

Typically BS/BA in related discipline or advanced degree. Certification may be required in some areas.

Knowledge and Experience:

Demonstrates and applies comprehensive knowledge of field of specialization to the successful completion of complex assignments. Demonstrates advanced knowledge of concepts, practices, and procedures of particular area of specialization. Demonstrates significant knowledge of organizations business practices and issues faced and contributes to problem resolution of those issues. Typically 8-10 years of successful experience in related field and successful demonstration of Key Responsibilities and Knowledge as presented above. Advanced degree MAY be substituted for experience, where applicable.

Direction of Others:

Provides specialized guidance or train support and/or professional staff. Leadership qualities and role model qualities demonstrated.

Key Working Relationships:

Primarily intra-organizational contacts and external contacts.
