Job Description
Growing outpatient mental health and substance abuse treatment clinic in the Mid-West with its Call Center located in Central Valley, NY is looking for full time Telephonic Intake Coordinators to join our team.
We currently have on staff, psychiatrists, a psychologist, nurse practitioners, professional counselors, clinical substance abuse counselors, clinical social workers and marriage and family therapists.
We are immediately hiring professionals with good communication skills to handle the heavy call volume of new client inquiries we receive daily (i. e. new appointments, reschedules, Rx).
Job Responsibilities
Interview potential clients over the phone to determine if an outpatient clinic is the appropriate level of care.
Check and verify mental health and or substance use treatment insurance benefits.
Request prior authorizations for treatment when needed.
Collect and enter into the electronic medical record the required demographic information.
Set clients up with assessment appointments.
Reschedule appointments as necessary.
Explain the clinic policies and procedures to those who are inquiring about our programs.
Answer client's questions about clinic policies and procedures.
When clients are not appropriate for this level of care assist them with a referral to the appropriate level of care.
When not working intake calls be available to answer clinic's main phone line.
Job Requirements
The Intake Coordinators works as vital part of the team at the clinic. They are the voice that greets the patients when they call and facilitates their accessing services when needed. This person is very much involved in patient care and must be a team player at all times. Given our size they must also be flexible to take on tasks that come up that are not part of the usual routine. Prior intake experience in mental health and AODA a plus. Excellent computer skills. Willing to take on new tasks and responsibilities. Pleasant phone demeanor. Trainees in the field or if you are working to obtain your license are welcome.
