One of the best ways to ensure that your job search is as productive as possible is to set quantified weekly and daily goals. For example, consider the following goals:

• Today, I will apply to 50 job openings listed on the Internet;
• Today, I will touch base with 25 former co -workers/ colleagues to inform them of my job search and ask for assistance;
• Today, I will email 25 colleagues at other companies to inform them that "I am available;"
• This week, I will post my resume to the top 25 job boards;
• This week, I will email/contact 10 headhunters and will call 10 human resource managers with companies where I would like to work.
