Syndicated Job.com RSS Feeds
What is RSS? Well, RSS stands for "Really Simple Syndication" and is a format by which people may subscribe to a website, in much the same way that people signup for newletters via email. So in a way, you can think of it as a newsletter for a website.
Look for the RSS icon (
)
on various pages on Job.com, which will be linked to the relevant syndication feed for that
page or section of the website. If you have questions regarding this, please feel free to
contact us.
How do I subscribe?
If you're not familiar with syndication feeds (RSS), relax and enjoy the ride! First, you will need to download a newsreader application. Here are a few popular ones:
- FeedDemon (Win/XP)
— This is a standalone newsreader for Windows, and it's very flexible and full of some great
features such as the "News Bins", which allow you to search and order news/information by keywords.
It's styled against Office 2003, so if you are running Windows XP and Office 2003 it will seem very
familiar and friendly... which it is!
- Pluck (Win/XP) — Seamlessly integrated with Internet Explorer, Pluck retrieves, organizes, and automatically delivers your favorite web stuff in a single-view. Pluck lets you browse multiple sites at once, share stories and folders with anyone, and it even finds things when you are not online. Pluck also organizes and stores all your Web information so you can access it from anywhere.
- NewsGator (Win/XP) — Tie's directly into MS Outlook (2000/2003) and allows you to get the news you subscribe to and check your email, all in one place. Very nice, familiar, and highly recommended. It also now provides both an online service, as well as the standalone plug-in to Micrsoft Outlook.
- Bloglines (Browser) — Bloglines is the most comprehensive, integrated service for searching, subscribing, publishing and sharing news feeds, blogs, and rich Web content. It's free and easy-to-use.
- NetNewsWire (Mac) — NetNewsWire is an easy-to-use RSS Web news reader for Mac OS X. Its familiar three-paned interface—similar to Apple Mail and Outlook Express—can fetch and display news from thousands of different websites and weblogs, making it quick and easy to keep up with the latest news.
