ICF is seeking an Assistant Project Manager/Research Associate to join the 400 professional staff in its Data Science and Survey Research Division. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in working with a multiple-disciplinary team of project managers, analysts, statisticians and methodologists managing large and complex survey research projects for a wide variety of government, university and commercial clients, providing research solutions that demonstrate quality, credibility, reliability, innovation, responsiveness, and transparency. This position will provide exposure to multiple data collection methods, with primary emphasis on telephone, mail and/or field interviewing modes.
Work with senior staff within the company and external clients. Design and assist in managing research and evaluation projects, including handling protocol development, instrument development, all aspects of data collection, data management, and data analysis.
Managing quality assurance checks on data, reports, and presentations.
Synthesize findings into written reports and scientific articles and contribute to the development of proposals.
Coordinating project team activities, schedules, and budgets for project tasks.
Assist in providing oversight and direction to research, evaluation, and training/technical assistance projects.
Participate in supervising, mentoring, and development of junior staff; assist in managing the day-to-day work associated with the projects and serve as the primary point of contact for clients.
Proposal development activities.
Bachelor s degree required, Master s degree preferred (social sciences, math, or statistics preferred).
Minimum of five years of applied survey research or related experience.
Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office products: Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
Experience with statistical packages (e. g. , SPSS, SAS, R, MiniTab, Stata) preferred.
Strong interest in survey methodology and statistics.
Ability to pass a Federal Background Investigation for Public Trust.
Excellent verbal, oral, interpersonal and written communication skills.
Experience in quantitative and qualitative data analysis.
Experience providing general project support, such as activity tracking, task coordination, and document formatting.
Fluency in Spanish or other language(s) is a plus.
Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision making capabilities.
Ability to be flexible, multi-task, prioritize, and manage multiple activities simultaneously in a fast-paced, changing environment.
Strong team player with the ability to take initiative and work well independently.
