Fairview Health Services is seeking 1 board certified / board eligible Adult Psychiatrist for a part time 0. 4 FTE practice at the Fairview Integrated Primary Care Clinic on campus of the University of Minnesota Medical Center in Minneapolis, MN.
In the Collaborative Care Psychiatry Service Model, each primary care provider (PCP) retains primary responsibility for ongoing management of the psychiatric conditions including medication management for their patients. The PCPs refer patients to the embedded/collaborative care psychiatrist based on complexity/instability and the need for a specialty consultation. The psychiatrist sees the patients for a diagnostic evaluation and one to two additional follow-up appointments to initiate /stabilize meds as needed. The patient is then returned to the referring PCP for ongoing primary psychiatric management. In addition, the psychiatrist provides provider to provider consultations both face to face and via the shared EMR.
Opportunity is available to teach medical students and residents as adjunct faculty in the University of Minnesota Medical School's Department of Psychiatry.

Call Coverage:No weeknight or weekend call coverage

Income Details: Competitive compensation
Graduate of an accredited ACGME psychiatry residency training program and Board Certified/Board Prepared with the American Board of Medical Specialties or American Osteopathic Association. Licensed or ability to obtain Minnesota Board of Medical Practice Licensure. Ability to obtain and /or maintain DEA certification for the State of Minnesota. Meet threshold criteria/qualifications for Credentialing and Privileges.
Experience in working in a collaborative or integrated model of care. This requires comfort and strong interpersonal skills in working as a partner with PCPs to manage the mental health/substance use disorders of their patient population.
