OverviewQualcomm is the world leader in cutting-edge wireless technologies, powering the majority of 3G & 4G devices and is the largest fabless semiconductor in the world. Qualcomms Advanced CPU Development team has multiple openings for CPU Micro-architect and Design Engineers. These positions range from Senior to Director level.

Responsibilities:

+ Perform microarchitecture exploration and generate microarchitecture specification for one or more of the major units in a processor core.

+ Develop and maintain RTL to target power, performance, area, and timing goals.

+ Perform unit-level and top-level functional verification and assist with pre-silicon validation activities.

+ Work on synthesis and timing closure.

+ Perform and/or assist with post-silicon debug.

+ Contribute to performance analysis and improvement efforts.

Skills/Experience:

10+ years of experience in the following areas is required:

+ Modern in-order and out-of-order processor core designs, with expertise in one or more of the following areas: fetch, decode, branch prediction, renaming and scheduling, out-of-order execution, re-order buffer, integer and floating-point execution, load/store execution, caches and memory-subsystem.

+ ARM Instruction Set Architectures (ISAs) and their implementation within in-order and out-of-order processor cores.

+ RTL coding experience.

+ High-speed low-power design techniques.

+ SMP related topics such as coherency and consistency.

+ Multi-core and multi-threaded processor design.

5+ years of experience in the following areas is preferred:

+ VLSI design, EDA synthesis tools and methodologies.

+ Experience with FPGA prototyping and debugging.

Education RequirementsRequired: Bachelor's, Computer Engineering and/or Computer Science and/or Electrical Engineering

Preferred: Master's, Computer Engineering and/or Computer Science and/or Electrical Engineering
