The Department of Pediatrics has an opening for an Associate Professor or Professor to serve as Chief of the Division of Neonatology.
Successful candidates will have shown outstanding academic achievement and clinical expertise and commitment to education and mentoring of residents, fellows, and faculty. Requirements for employment include NYS physician license, DEA license, and Board Certification in Pediatrics and Neonatology.
Number of months/years of experience required after obtainment of highest degree: This position requires sufficient experience to qualify the candidate for a leadership-level position in the pediatric subspecialty of Neonatology generally, 3 years of pediatrics residency, 3 years of neonatology fellowship, 6 years as Assistant Professor, and 3-6 years as Associate Professor, plus experience in administrative leadership positions like program director of neonatology fellowship.
Special skills required: Excellent interpersonal and administrative skills; ability to lead a diverse group of MDs, PhDs, and MD-PhDs and work with nursing, social work, nutrition, etc. personnel.
Minimum Education Requirements - list level of education and field(s) acceptable:
4 years of college
4 years of medical school
3 years of pediatrics residency
3 years of neonatology fellowship
6 years as Assistant Professor
3-6 years as Associate Professor
Experience in administrative leadership positions (e. g. , program director of neonatology fellowship)
