The University of Rochester is seeking to hire a junior faculty member in the academic/tenure track.
The candidate for this position will establish an independent program of research as evidenced by conceptualizing, designing, planning, and implementing research projects in his/her area of expertise. The position requires the candidate to develop and lead grant proposals to secure extramural funding to support research and to engage in ongoing scholarship as evidenced by presentation and publication of research findings. Familiarity with a wide variety of research methodologies, techniques, and statistical software including quantitative and qualitative methods is required. Strong collaborative skills to support an independent research program development and participation as a contributing member of the School of Nursing faculty also are essential. The candidate will be expected to teach and mentor students. Excellent writing and presentation skills as well as critical thinking skills are required.
Perform other duties as required.
Candidates must hold an earned doctorate in nursing or a related field, strong evidence of scholarship including data-based publication record, potential for success in securing extramural funding, excellent interpersonal skills. Post-offer health assessment via University Health Services.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Strong preference will be given to candidates who have had superior research training and mentoring including demonstrated experience with managing research studies, excellent data management/analysis skills, and strong data-based publication record. Established individuals seeking the Assistant Professor position must demonstrate a clear independent program of research including a history of publication and active seeking of extramural funding.
