Full Time 40 hours Grade 053 Anesthesiology M &D;
Directs management and harmonization of data from multiple analgesic clinical trials, preferably using SAS programming language. Collaborates with faculty to generate hypotheses evaluating the effects of clinical trial characteristics on assay sensitivity using the harmonized data. Executes analytical programming to test these hypotheses. Conducts systematic literature reviews including article identification and data coding. Works independently and exercises judgment, while also collaborating with colleagues. Carefully documents procedures used.
**Specific Responsibilities: **
Under general direction and within University policies, guidelines, and approved protocols, with latitude for independent judgment and initiative:
Directs management and harmonization of large databases to prepare for data analyses. Identifies appropriate clinical trial data from legacy data repository. Selects relevant variables for harmonization using study protocols.
Modifies variables into a standardized format across datasets, matches variables, and merges datasets in preparation for statistical analyses, preferably using SAS programming.
Conducts analytical programming to test hypotheses in the harmonized data. Advises collaborators on the interpretation of the statistical analyses.
Collaborates on hypothesis generation to evaluate clinical trial methodology.
Other duties, such as reviews of the literature, helping to identify, interpret, and code trial reports following procedures and guidelines established by research team.
Bachelors degree with major course work in biostatistics, statistics, or related field of study, and 2-3 years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Ideally, a candidate will have experience harmonizing large data sets and programing statistical analyses. Must be detail oriented, highly organized, and possess good interpersonal skills and communication skills (both verbal and written). Must have the ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment. Should be proficient with Windows 7 and Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook, and preferably SAS.
