Position End Date
Support phase I clinical trials in HIV and cancer in the Product Development Laboratory of the Product Development & Correlative Sciences (PDCS) laboratory. Primary responsibilities will include 1) cryopreservation of apheresed, elutriated, and manufactured cells from cancer patients in vials and cryobags for use in product development and correlative sciences activities; 2) assisting in the development and testing of new flow cytometric panels for the use of a 16-color, 18 parameter flow cytometer; 3) performing cellular immunology experiments using sterile technique in various product development activities; 4) assist in analytical and cell culture validation studies. Perform molecular profiling experiments using quantitative PCR, OpenArray, microarray, and other molecular analytical tools. Other duties may include, but are not limited to, molecular cloning, training others in techniques and procedures, and assist in general lab operations.
BA degree in science and 1-3 years of demonstrated experience in academic cellular immunology research or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Masters degree preferred. A broad knowledge base of immunology including the biology of human T cells is required. Demonstrated abilities to multi-task and exhibiting effective time management skills are required. Specialized training on utilizing multi-color flow cytometric instruments and data analysis using Flow Jo software are preferred. Prior laboratory experience including mammalian tissue culture and familiarity of working under cGMP guidelines with SOPs are preferred. Hands-on experience with quantitative PCR platforms required. Candidate must exhibit excellent computer skills, including expertise in Microsoft Office applications. Preference will be given to candidates who indicate a strong desire to build a career in the medical field.
