Perform Environmental Monitoring in the Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) suites of the Clinical Cell and Vaccine Production Facility (CVPF). This includes sampling and monitoring of viable and non-viable particulates in cell processing rooms and common areas (ISO 5, ISO 7, ISO 8 classified environments); coordinating the shipment of environmental samples to external testing sites, compilation of data in test reports and entry into spreadsheets for tracking and trending, and validation of the cleaning plan. Additional responsibilities include cleaning and decontamination of processing rooms and common areas in the GMP suites in order to maintain aseptic conditions and to be compliant with FDA standards. This includes biohazard waste collection and disposal, decontamination and changeover of tissue culture rooms and equipment according to schedule or as needed, floor mopping, and completion of associated documentation. Tasks will be performed and documented according to CVPF Standard Operating Procedures. Assist with unpacking and storing of deliveries, as well as restocking of laboratory supplies. Train other personnel in procedures in which he or she is proficient. Other duties as may apply.
Minimum Education/Training Requirements: H. S. Diploma or GED with 2 years experience in similar position or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Previous experience in a GMP laboratory and in a similar capacity is highly desirable. Must be reliable, able to take initiative and work independently following established procedures. Excellent organizational, written and verbal communication skills are important, as well as attention to details. Functional knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) is preferred. Understanding of GMP and FDA standards and compliance is a big plus.
