**Advertised Summary Job Description**

Columbia University Medical Center is currently looking for a strong leader to oversee the clinical and Administrative for all solid organ programs within the Transplant Outpatient Center. This individual will manage all activities in a high volume, fast-paced, multi - specialty shared practice as well as strategic planning or the Liver Kidney and Lung transplant programs. Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to: HR management of FPO front end staff for all programs (schedulers, medical assistants, check-in/check-out staff), coordinate the hiring, performance evaluations and terminations of FPO staff as necessary.

Maintains departmental manuals and ensures HR policies and procedures are followed within the Center (personnel file maintenance, staff training, dress code, time tracking).

Responsible for payroll approval and snbmissions.

Develops effective teamwork and communication among staff and maintains high level of staff participation Monitors daily activities of physicians schedules which includes cancellations, overbooking, emergency patients and vacations.

Primary contact for providers concerning both dailv and programmatic practice issues. Primary contact for all patient related issues, comments and suggestions. Ensure patients are informed about any unforeseen delays, cancelations, etc. Oversee all daily front end activities which includes scheduling, registration, visit arriving and closing, billing/collection, cash handling, patient flow and customer service; ensure all functions working effectively and on a timely basis. Cover front end staff responsibilities when necessary. Work with Medical and Administrative leadership and personnel to improve overall experience of Transplant patients and their families. Monitor and communicate Press Ganey scores with staff and Administration. Implement improvement plans as necessary. Develop short-term and long-term strategies to improve patient satisfaction, staff & faculty satisfaction, patient flow & through-put. Oversee and monitor Transplant Outpatient Center room utilization. Serve as a liaison to NYP to address facility-related issues. Ensure physical environment is safe and fonctional. -Submit requests for repairs in a timely manner. Ensure all medical equipment and computers in Outpatient Center are functional at all times. Work closely with hospital and university representatives on budgetary and operational issues. Ensure Center is adequately stocked with both clinical and office supplies. ) Monitor supply inventory with regard to cl inician needs as well as budget. Contact vendors regarding issues as appropriate. Assist the Transplant Center's Medical Director with medical staff administrative functions, enabling consistent and continual provision of medical care. Works with attending physicians, residents, and all other transplant clinical staff to maintain compliance with all applicable hospital and regulatory requirements. Work closely with the transplant program administrators and managers to ensure consistent standards of patient care, coordination of services, communication and implementation of process improvement goals. Investigates and creates ideas to optimize revenue, patient flow; analyzes and reports trends. Communicate routinely with individual programs regarding front end and clinical operations. Introduce enhanced professional front end development to keep pace with industry trends. Conforms to all applicable HIPPA, billing compliance and safety guidelines. Attends and participate in all related meetings for Departments of Medicine and Surgery, FPO and Transplant medical leadership. Perform other duties as assigned.

**Minimum Qualifications for Grade**

Bachelor's degree or equivalent in training and experience, with at least four years of directly related experience.

Manage challenging situations, facilitate high-level multidisciplinary group decisions and work effectively as a team member in a large, complex transplant program.

Able to develop and manage an operating budget

Staff supervisory and development experience

Computer skills (e. g. , Microsoft Office spreadsheet/database )

Experience using quality and process improvement techniques and tools. Knowledge of government regulations for physician practice environments (transplant experience would be valuable) Strong relationship and inteqiersonal skills.

**Preferred Qualifications**

Healthcare operational management in a multi-specialty (group environment. Experience in a clinical setting. Knowledge of IDX and EMR preferred but not required.
