**Advertised Summary Job Description**

This laboratory performs research in Oncology. The incumbent will perform basic molecular biology analysis such as DAN and RNA preparation, PCR, gel electrophoresis, Western blots and tissue culture; incumbent will keep clear records of experimental results. Additional responsiblities pertain to laboratory safety, organizing supplies, researh reagents, equipment maintenance, monitoring and ordering lab supplies and other related duties as required.

**Minimum Qualifications for Grade**

Requires a bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology, physics or related science or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

**Applicant** **MUST** **meet these minimum qualifications to be considered an applicant**

Must have experience with cell culture and standard molecular biology techniques. Good interpersonal communication skills are required. It will be necessary to work late on occasion to complete experiments

**Special Instructions**

**Preferred Qualifications**

A minimum of six (6) months of experience in a research laboratory preferred. Computer skills (ie. , word/excel).

**Essential Functions**

Molecular biology procedures - 70%

Laboratory organization - 25%

Other duties assigned - 5%
