**Advertised Summary Job Description**

Responsible for culturing embryonic stem cells, their differentiation of stem cells into motor neurons, chromatin immunoprecipitation, cloning and expression profiling of differentiated cells.

Responsibilities will also include ordering and maintaining lab supplies, records and equipment; maintenance of a mouse colony; preparation of common stock solutions and reagents; and performing other related duties as assigned.

**Minimum Qualifications for Grade**

Requires a Bachelor's Degree and at least 1. 5 years of related experience or equivalent in education, training and experience.

**Applicant** **MUST** **meet these minimum qualifications to be considered an applicant**

Computer literacy, knowledge of biochemistry, molecular biology and cell biology, and strong experience with related laboratory procedures are required. Ability to learn new techniques. Ability to work, under minimal supervision by the principal investigator. Easy interactions with multiple investigators.

Excellent motivation and interpersonal, communication and organizational skills required.

**Special Instructions**

**Preferred Qualifications**

Prior experience in tissue culture, molecular biology and biochemistry is required. Master's degree preferred.

**Essential Functions**

? Carrying out fully planned experiments and maintaining scientific records-60%

? Ordering and maintaining lab supplies and equipment-10%

? Maintenance of laboratory mouse colony ? 10%

? Trains lower level personel-10%

? Preparing solutions and performing other related duties necessary to the functioning of laboratory and research projects-10%
