The Division of Medical Genetics, Childrens Hospital Los Angeles, University of Southern California-Keck School of Medicine, is recruiting a clinical geneticist to expand our clinical programs and clinical research in dysmorphology, metabolic disorders, neurogenetics, telegenetics and connective tissue disorders, as well as other genetic disorders and birth defects. He or she will join a growing division that includes other genetics faculty, genetic counselors, metabolic dietitians, a genetics nurse and social worker.
The candidate will have the opportunity to establish an academic research career in a thriving environment with a wealth of patients available and an active environment of interdepartmental collaboration at CHLA and throughout the USC main campus.
The applicant must have an MD or DO and be preferably BE/BC in Pediatrics. In addition, the successful candidate will be ABMG-BE/BC.
Childrens Hospital Los Angeles is one of only 10 Childrens Hospitals in the nation and the only pediatric medical center on the West Coast-ranked in all 10 pediatric specialties and named to the national Honor Roll of childrens hospitals in the United States in the current US News and World Report. CHLA is a freestanding, private not-for-profit childrens hospital affiliated with the USC, Keck School of Medicine. CHLA completed a new in-patient hospital tower in 2011 with over 300 beds. The Saban Research Institute at CHLA provides state of the art basic science facilities in stem cell research, transplant immunology, and developmental biology. The USC KSOM was established in 1885 and has over 1, 200 full time faculty members and is home to over 25 research-oriented basic and clinical academic programs.
Academic appointment through USC Keck School of Medicine is available at a level appropriate to training and experience. The salary and academic rank would be commensurate with experience.
