## Posting Summary:
The Department of Radiation Oncology at the University of Virginia seeks candidates for a Research Associate to study projects related to Cancer Biology, Cancer Diagnostics and Cancer Therapy (e. g. focused ultrasound, ionizing radiation, chemotherapy, targeted therapies, nanotechnologies and biological therapies).
The incumbent will perform molecular, cellular and animal models studies on combination therapy to improve therapeutic responses of cancer (e. g. melanoma, prostate, ovarian, pancreatic, breast, etc). The successful candidate is expected to be self-motivated and capable of working independently and performing assigned research on his/her own initiative with a minimum of direction, but also to be able to work in a team when the research requires it.
The position requires a DVM, PharmD, MD, or PhD (any one or a combination) by appointment start date. Experience working with animals, cell culture, basic molecular, immunology, and cellular biology techniques is required.
Experience working with biomedical engineering, ultrasound and inflammation is preferred.
