## Posting Summary:
The University of Virginia Department of Biochemistry & Molecular Genetics has an opening in the lab of Dr. Yuh-Hwa Wang for a Research Associate to study human chromosomal rearrangements in oncogenesis. We are interested in the nature of human chromosomal fragile sites, which have been linked to chromosomal deletions and gene rearrangements found in many cancers. Our studies are aimed at understanding the genesis of breakpoints at or near fragile sites during oncogenesis. Ongoing projects include investigating the mechanism of cancer-causing gene rearrangements and examining the effect of environmental factors in the formation of gene rearrangements.
