The Pornillos Laboratory in the Department of Molecular Physiology and Biological Physics at the University of Virginia is seeking a postdoctoral Research Associate. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to participate in one or both of two NIH-funded (R01 and P50) projects. Candidates must have a PhD or equivalent degree in Biochemistry or a related field, a clear record of high-quality research, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work well in a collaborative environment. Extensive experience in structural and biochemical characterization of protein-RNA complexes is ideal. Extensive expertise in molecular biology, protein purification, and biochemical/biophysical characterization of protein-protein interactions is required. Prior experience in structure determination by X-ray crystallography, NMR, and/or cryoEM is preferred.
