## Posting Summary:
The Accounting area at the McIntire School of Commerce at the University of Virginia is seeking applications for one or more full time positions beginning September 2013. The strongest candidates will have expertise in contemporary research practices and topics, as well as demonstrated excellence in teaching accounting at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.
The positions are open to all ranks, including distinguished professor. For a tenure track position, applicants must have a Ph. D. and must possess practical business experience, and have demonstrated a strong record in research and teaching. Particular consideration will be given to scholars whose research has potential synergies with current McIntire faculty. The McIntire School of Commerce awards a Bachelor of Science degree in Commerce and Master of Science degrees in Accounting and Management of Information Technology. It serves over 650 upper-level undergraduates and 300 graduate students. Undergraduate students enter the Commerce School in their third year at the University and concentrate in at least one of six fields: accounting, finance, international business, marketing, management, and information technology. McIntire graduates are actively recruited by major professional services firms (e. g. , accounting, consulting, and investment banks) and Fortune 500 corporations The School's programs have been recognized as among the best in the country in evaluations and rankings conducted by publications (e. g. , Business Week, US News and World Report, ComputerWorld, Public Accounting Review).
McIntire faculty members have received numerous regional and national awards for their research. They also serve as members of editorial review boards and as editors of leading journals in their fields. Accounting Area scholars include: Anne Backof, Mary Erickson, Adam Koch, Susan Porter, Andrea Roberts, Craig Lefanowicz, David Maloney, Roger Martin, Patrick Wilke, Monica Banyi, Philip Shane and Susan Perry Williams.
