## Posting Summary:
The University of Virginia Cancer Center is seeking an Associate Director for Translational Research. As an NCI-designated Clinical Cancer Center, the UVA Cancer Center has active research programs in laboratory, clinical and population science. The Associate Director for Translational Research will facilitate and promote vigorous interactions across the Cancer Center's research areas, facilitating collaboration that lead to rapid transfer of clinical observations to laboratory experiments, and promising discoveries in the laboratory to innovative behavioral and medical applications in prevention, detection, diagnosis, treatment and survivorship. This is a faculty position, and tenure track and rank will depend on qualifications.
Candidates must have a MD or equivalent degree and must be Board-certified in Hematology and/or Medical Oncology. Sub-specialty expertise in the treatment of malignant disease is required. The successful candidate will have a national reputation in translational research, experience building translational collaborations, and an interest in facilitating translational research at UVA to enable the Cancer Center to reach its goal of achieving designation as an NCI Comprehensive Cancer Center by 2020.
