## Posting Summary:
The Department of Medicine, Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at the University of Virginia, seeks candidates for a tenure-ineligible clinical faculty at the rank of Assistant Professor to join the lung transplantation program. The Division performs on average 25 lung transplants annually. The lung transplant program prides itself with a patient-focused approach and a very collegial, supportive and inter-disciplinary working environment. Our current one-year survival of 94% significantly exceeds the national average. The incumbent will assume an active role within our lung transplant program and also contribute to the education of other health care professionals including medical students, residents and fellows.
Candidates must have a MD degree or equivalent, be board-certified in Internal Medicine and board-certified or board-eligible in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine by appointment start date. Strong interpersonal skills and excellence in patient care and teaching is expected. A strong clinical and/or research interest in lung transplantation and experience in the management of advanced lung disease is preferred. Dedicated fellowship training in transplant pulmonology is strongly preferred.
