The University of Virginia School of Architecture seeks accomplished designers and experienced educators who will make a significant contribution to innovative teaching and creative research in the Department of Landscape Architecture. [www. arch. virginia. edu]
The position is a tenure-track appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor to begin August 25, 2016. We are searching for excellent designers to teach graduate design studios, elective seminars in the candidates' area of research as well as required courses in our technical sequence (EcoTech), which integrates ecological performance with construction technologies, including landform, material assembly and hydrological infrastructure. In addition to excellence in design of sites and systems, we seek applicants who will contribute to the advancement of ecological content and digital media in the curriculum. Expertise in living systems and cultural constructs that address urgent issues such as climate change and socio-ecological challenges is desired to enhance the School of Architecture's focus on urban, postindustrial, and infrastructural landscapes. MLA or advanced graduate degree and prior teaching experience are required.
