We are seeking highly motivated individuals to join the laboratory headed by Assistant Professor John Ngo in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at Boston University. Our department is a diverse and high-energy research setting and is consistently ranked among the best bioengineering departments in the nation.
Work in the Ngo Laboratory is focused on the development of new tools for measuring, visualizing, and controlling biomolecules in living cells and organisms. The goal of our work is to develop novel technologies that enable discovery, and to apply those tools to reveal new insights into cellular function and disease. We are currently working in three complementary research topics: 1) live-cell imaging of dynamic signal transduction in cells and neurons, 2) development of labeling techniques for high-resolution imaging of cells and biomolecules, and 3) protein engineering for cell biology and biotechnology.
Our interdisciplinary research group draws together scientists of various backgrounds, including those with training in protein engineering, chemistry, cell/molecular, neurobiology, molecular imaging, and materials science. Candidates with a Ph. D. in these or related areas are encouraged to apply. The ideal candidate will have a strong publication record in peer-reviewed scientific journals, be exceptionally creative, and able to work in a highly collaborative setting. Excellent oral and written communication skills are required. For more information about our group, please visit: http://www. thengolab. com/.
PLEASE DO NOT APPLY THROUGH THE BOSTON UNIVERSITY HUMAN RESOURCES WEBSITES. Instead, interested applicants should send an email to jtngo@bu. edu and include the following: (a) a cover letter, (b) a current C. V. , and (c) contact information for three scientists familiar with your work.
