**Senior Environmental Planner/Permitting Specialist**
TRC is seeking candidates for the position of Senior Environmental Planner/Permitting Specialist in its Lyndhurst, New Jersey office. Candidates must have, as a minimum, a Bachelors degree in environmental resources, environmental planning, natural resources, environmental engineering, and/or a related field. A Masters degree in a related environmental field is a plus. Candidates should have at least 5 to 10 years of directly applicable experience. The successful candidate must have demonstrated writing abilities, organizational skills, and possess the ability to act independently. Demonstrated experience with regulatory and permitting authorities in PA, NJ, NY, CT at both the state and federal levels, strong understanding of environmental and societal characteristics within these states, project management, and experience preparing permit applications to these agencies are required. Typical permit application types for the position include Article VII and Article 10 in NY, freshwater wetland permits, flood hazard area permits, coastal area development, soil erosion and sediment control approvals, New York SEQRA review, threatened and endangered species consultations, municipal and county planning board approvals, and 401 water quality certifications, 404/10 permits, as well as regulatory reviews and critical issues assessments.
TRC provides engineering and environmental consulting services to a wide range of clients involving electric generation and storage (renewable energy, fossil and hydroelectric), electric transmission, natural gas and liquids pipelines, roadway and railway, and manufacturing facilities. Responsibilities will include project management, client service management, the implementation of regulatory permitting strategies, and the preparation of environmental permit applications (with supporting documentation); agency consultations and representation of clients in front of stakeholder groups; environmental impact assessments; and compliance evaluations. Proven written and verbal communication skills are a must.
