The Dairy Specialist is responsible for identifying, developing and deploying technologies and models that will be used to provide customer solutions. The Dairy Specialist is accountable for keeping abreast of technology and business practices; typical approaches include awareness of University and Private sector Research, Modeling Workshops and species technical meetings, location visits, and professional meetings. The Dairy Specialist will work with regional sales leaders (RSL), business development managers (BDM) and dairy focused consultants (DFC) to understand customer needs and to champion an environment in which people learn more than they are taught.
+ 50% - Work with DFCs providing on-farm technical support for current customers and prospects. Provide customer value through customer solutions and technical supporting material for prospective and current customers. Key areas will bedairy managementand nutrition which is provided through proprietary software, MAXTM.
+ 15% - Ensure application and value capture from technology updates in MAXTM andrelated systems.
+ 15% - Update, maintain, and coordinate training and training materials. Develop new materials as necessary.
+ 10% - Serve as the lead contact for select dairy customers with support from a dairy focused consultant.
+ 5% - Abreast of animal nutrition, modeling, and research models to enhance dairy value offerings.
+ 5% - Personal learning and development.
This position will be centered in central Pennsylvania. Travel will be approximately 50% (mostly day trips).
+ Minimum of a Ph. D. or Ph. D. candidate in dairy nutrition related field.
+ Passion for understanding, creating, and communicating value to team members and customers.
+ Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and achieve time lines.
+ Ability to work independently.
+ Must be able to travel (locally) weekly.
+ Strong commitment to customer excellence and needs.
+ Ability to get meaningful data from dairy farm business software including Dairy Comp 305, PCDART, TeamViewer, etc.
+ Interest and desire to take a systems approach to animal production and business management
+ Develop small customer base on own.
+ Lync, WebEx, remote communication experience
+ Public speaking (large and small groups)
