14 Days agoInformation Tech / Computer                                                                                                       VESTA JOB DESCRIPTION Job Title: Applications Analyst Date April 2017 Reports To: IS Manager Department IS-Support Manufacturing Classification Exempt Direct Report(s): No Work Location Franklin, WI POSITION SUMMARY: The Applications Analyst is the primary subject matter expert of the Manufacturing Execution System (eDHR) application. This position is responsible for being a liaison between business stakeholders, Information Solutions, and the software vendor(s). This role will entail computer programming, system administration skills, and report writing. This role also requires the ability to analyze complex problems, diagnose and find root cause, and then either determine how to solve it or pass the problem on to the relevant people if it does not lie within the application analyst's area of responsibility. This role will also need to gather data and analyze business and user needs in consultation with both business managers and end-users. DESCRIPTION OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Plan, coordinate, schedule, and verify results of application utilities executed to support business applications and procedures. Analyze, design, implement, and maintain software application configuration and infrastructure. Design, develop, and maintain reports using application reporting tools. Define, develop, and document the MES (eDHR) application requirements for enhancements or changes (both major and minor). Participate as SME in the software application change management process to field, document, and communicate response feedback. Provide functional and technical support to Vesta personnel for the managed application and integrated systems. Test software applications to ensure their quality and their compliance with established business policies and practices. Plan, coordinate, schedule, verify, and implement software updates with staff. Work with software vendor(s) to understand, configure, enhance, and support the software. Plan, coordinate, schedule, and facilitate any ongoing end-user training sessions. Consult and collaborate with staff to review, develop, and implement new or updated procedures, software applications, and user documentation. DESCRIPTION OF MARGINAL DUTIES: Participate, as necessary, in any on-going training on emerging technologies and methodologies to support the application. Observe and promote Company standards and policies on safety, quality and productivity. DIRECT REPORTS : N/A HIRING GUIDELINES : (To perform job successfully, and individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or ability required/preferred). Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field. Previous information technology experience is required. Three to Five years experience working in Regulated Industry and software validation. Advanced Knowledge of: Object-oriented applications Methods and techniques used to design, develop, test and implement applications (SDLC). Methods and techniques of evaluating business requirements and developing information systems solutions. Windows Server 2012+ OTHER GUIDELINES (Preferred Skills) Previous experience with Manufacturing Execution System (MES) software, preferred. Understanding of XML programming language a plus Knowledge of Database design and development Knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server 2008 and above Crystal Reports. Business Objects Web Intelligence. Windows 7 and above. Microsoft Office products. The employee may frequently be subject to dynamic standing/walking and using hands to finger or handle/touch with constant exposure to static standing/sitting. The employee will rarely (if ever) be subject to pushing/pulling (rough poundage of force), floor to knuckle lift/lower, knuckle to shoulder lift/lower, shoulder to overhead lift/lower, sustained bending, use foot/feet to operate machine, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, reach above shoulders or repetitive bending or squatting. The following vision requirements apply: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. WORK ENVIRONMENT: (The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee may encounter while performing the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities). The employee will occasionally be exposed to working near moving mechanical parts. The employee will rarely (if ever) be subject to wet humid conditions, working in high precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, outdoor weather conditions, extreme cold or heat, risk of electrical shock or travel on company business. The noise level is considered moderate (business office, computer printer, light traffic level) and occasionally considered loud if near operating production equipment. The employee will be required to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment such as: safety glasses in the designated areas, hairnet/beard net and jumpsuit when on production floor.
