As many Americans are looking to break into a growing industry that could be able to guarantee job security in a time of economic crisis, many individuals are turning to jobs in the technology industry. Because the sector is constantly evolving due to the newest innovations in systems and software, many companies are hiring information technology (IT) specialists in order to help keep them current with the newest inventions. As a result, those who have a background in the technology field may see a number of job opportunities coming their way in the near future.
The state of Ohio recently granted a business tax credit to Ruralogic in order for the IT company to build three more facilities, which will bring in 121 new positions to each center, according to Crescent-News.com. The centers will be built in Archbold, Napoleon and Bryan, which is where the company's new corporate headquarters will be.
The company is a subsidiary of the IT consulting firm, Attevo, and will provide tier-1 development and management for its clients.
"We have a great work force in northwest Ohio," Joe Burmester, co-founder and chief executive office of Ruralogic, told the news provider. "They have a good work ethic and education. We have a good technical schools and colleges around here and we like the place. This is where we grew up. We have to start one place and do it well to get it going. It made sense to do it in northwest Ohio."
The technology industry is expected to experience significant growth in the coming years. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, job opportunities for the sector are predicted to increase by 17 percent through 2018.
